Introduction
Cordly is your personal cable and charging gear organizer, built to help you catalog, track, and manage all your device accessories in one place. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services.
Our Privacy Promise
- We will never sell your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes
- Your gear data is stored locally on your device by default, unless you explicitly opt in to cloud sync
- We only collect the minimum amount of data required to make Cordly work for you
- You have full control over all data you add to the app at all times
Information We Collect
We only collect information that you explicitly choose to provide to us, or that is required for the core functionality of Cordly:
Information You Provide Directly
- Gear library data: Photos you capture or upload from your gallery to identify your cables/accessories, and all details you input including type, power output, length, brand, custom storage location labels, quantity, and purchase notes
- Travel packing data: Custom destination lists, packing list items, and packing progress tracking data you create
- Preference settings: Low-stock alert thresholds, default view preferences, and notification settings you configure
- Contact information: Only if you choose to reach out to our support team, we will retain the email address you provide to respond to your request
Automatically Collected Information
- Anonymous usage data: Aggregated, non-identifiable data about how you interact with Cordly features (such as how often you use the packing list or stats functions) to help us improve app performance and user experience
- Crash and performance logs: Technical data about app errors, load times, and device compatibility to help us fix bugs and optimize functionality for your device
Important Note: We never access any content in your device gallery outside of the specific photos you explicitly select to upload to your Cordly library. We also do not collect real-time geolocation data from your device - any "location" data stored in your account is only the custom location labels you manually input for your gear (e.g. "office drawer", "travel backpack").
How We Use Your Information
-
Core Service Delivery
To operate the core features of Cordly, including saving your gear library, generating packing lists, sending low-stock alerts, and displaying your usage statistics.
-

-
Support Communication
To respond to your support requests, answer your questions, and notify you of important service updates related to Cordly.
We will never use your personal data to serve you targeted advertisements, or share your individual gear library data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Data Sharing & Disclosure
We only share your personal information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We may share limited data with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate Cordly (such as cloud hosting providers if you opt in to cloud sync). All our service providers are required to implement strict data protection controls and may only use your data to provide services to us.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by applicable law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Cordly, our users, or the general public.
- With Your Explicit Consent: We will share your data if you explicitly request or authorize us to do so.
We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to any third parties under any circumstances.
Your Rights & Control Over Your Data
You retain full ownership and control over all data you add to Cordly. You can exercise the following rights at any time directly within the app settings:
- Access, edit, or delete any individual gear item, packing list, or photo from your library
- Export a full copy of all your Cordly data in a machine-readable format
- Permanently delete all your local and cloud-stored Cordly data
- Opt in or out of cloud sync at any time (when opt out, all your data remains stored only on your local device)
- Opt out of anonymous usage data collection
If you uninstall Cordly from your device, all locally stored data will be permanently deleted. Any data stored in our cloud sync service will remain until you manually delete it from your account settings or request deletion from our support team.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, including:
- End-to-end encryption for all data transferred between your device and our cloud services
- AES-256 encryption for all data stored in our cloud servers
- Regular security audits and vulnerability testing of our systems
- Limited access to personal data for our team members, only accessible for support purposes when explicitly authorized by you
While we take all reasonable steps to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continuously update our security practices to minimize risk.
Children's Privacy
Cordly is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will immediately delete that information from our systems. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Cordly after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
You can always review the most current version of this Privacy Policy at any time in the Settings section of the Cordly app.
